Halul Island

Qatar / al-Hawr / ad-Dahirah /

Halul Island is a commercially important island for the State of Qatar located around 100 kilometers North East, of the city of Doha. The Island is roughly oval in shape and occupies an area of approximately 1.5 square kilometers, extending a maximum of 1.7 km in the North/South direction and 1.3 km in the East/West direction. The Island is hilly, rising to an elevation of 202 feet.
The crude oil from various fields is received at Halul Island via subsea pipelines for storage into tanks farms and processed for further export.

There are at least two high voltage power cables between Halul and Qatar proper. Youtube video of the cable installation is out there.
