Lavan Island

Lavan (Persian: جزیره لاوان) is an Iranian island in the Persian Gulf. It is situated 18 kilometers from the Iranian coast line in The Persian Gulf. It has an area of 76 km². The island has one of the four major terminals for export of crude oil in Iran.

  • Its original Name, Shaikh Shuaaib Island. Before the Persian occupation this island was inhibited and ruled by an Arabic Tripe Named Bani Hammad.
