This area has finally been developed by the "bsk valley resident welfare association" into a small park where street dogs and kids play (not necessarily with each other), elders walk, cops sleep and couples romance (not all at the same time, of course). The park is named after the pen-name of renowned kannada poet and litterateur D V Gundappa.

The association earlier voted out a proposal for a public swimming pool.

Older comments about this place are retained below, for hysterical purposes.

site for bda "park". in the last 20 years this has evolved from a "jurassic park" (reptile haven) to lorry parking area to (now) barren fenced area, sometimes being used by some ladies' club etc for annual events (pandal for one day and lots of trash for later).

vested political interests have time and again attempted to get the place allotted for either a place of worship for a certain religious community, a school, a swimming pool, etc. the local residents have vehemently opposed these attempts (wisely or otherwise).

bda is bangalore development authority, which often reserves such vast areas of land in residential localities developed by itself, so that the land can be used in the ways mentioned above till a local elected representative decides to spend all his allocated funds on making the park a colorfully lit one surrounding a musical fountain, surrounded by pothole-ridden roads.
