The second of two personal homes designed and built in Palm Springs by world-renowned Swiss architect Albert Frey. The home was built between 1963/64, Frey spent over a year surveying the land and the mountain before he started construction of the home. This house is where he lived until he passed away in 1998 at the age of 95. Upon his death, Frey donated the property to the Palm Springs Art Museum, which continues to own and maintain the home.

The modest yet artfully-designed house is an example of Frey's design philosophy of a design, construction and materials that blend in with the natural landscape, and are not gaudy or intrusive. Mr. Frey was a pioneer of the mid-century modern style of architecture in the Palm Springs area.
