The Kaufmann Residence in Palm Springs was designed by Richard Neutra and completed in 1946. Kaufmann had previously commissioned a home from Frank Lloyd Wright that is now recognized as one of the most famous in the world: "Fallingwater." Neutra, too, had ties to Frank Lloyd Wright. He was a former Wright apprentice. The home was once owned by Barry Manilow and after he sold it in the early 90's, the new owners embarked on a complete restoration.

The couple that restored the home also purchased several adjacent lots to try and restore the feel of original setting on the edge of the desert.
