  • Used to be called LIELT TSEHAY HOSPITAL
  • Why do we want to erase history ? This Memorial Hospital was built in the name of the late princess Tsehai Haile Selassie . So let us keep and respect our history what so ever it is .Whether it is good or bad.
  • abdul U are right and it is good.
  • When I heard even nowadays Le'lte Tsehay Hospital, I confused. But now I came to know from where the name comes from. Thanks a lot!!!!
  • Actually, this hospital was named in memory of the Princess, who herself trained as a nurse at Great Ormond Street Hospital in London. It was not founded by Emperor Haile Selassie, although he was a patron of the hospital. It was founded and funded by the Abyssinian Association in London, which was started by the suffragette Sylvia Pankhurst and campaigned to restore the Emperor to his throne after the Italian invasion of Ethiopia (then known as Abyssinia). It was paid for by donations from many English people and organisations and others, such as Charles de Gaulle of France. I hop this adds a little to knowledge of Ethiopia's history.
