The church for 200-300 people was built in 1913 in the Italian Baroque style.
The Romanesque basilica is almost completely devoid of decoration, except the mosaic of Peter the Apostle above the main entrance and the inscription Sanctus Petrus.

For a long time, the church existed as the only active Roman Catholic church in the city of Odesa and southern Ukraine.
