Fraser Valley Institution (FVI) is a multi-level facility for women located on a large penitentiary reserve that also includes other institutions (men's facilities). FVI is located in southern Abbotsford, about 60 kilometres east of Vancouver. FVI opened in 2004 and can house up to 61 inmates.
