Othandeeswar temple : A shiva temple kai thandha piraan [கை தந்த பிரான் = the Lord who gave back the Devotee's hand].

History:
KariKaalan (கரிகாலப்பெருவளத்தான்)- the Kulothunga King , visited this site to worship Lord Shiva riding on his elephant. The elephant's foot got tangled in a vine. Unable to clear it by hand. He cut the vines with his sword. King was surprised to see blood oozed out as he cut & found inside a Linga was cut by him and a mark was made upon the top of the Shiv Linga. Desperately, the King, cut his own hand with the sword for committing the sin of having cut the Lord's Linga. Load appeared before him and appreciated his devotion to Lord Shiva, and the cut hand was restored hence the Lord is called "kaitantapiran ' meaning " the Lord who gave back the hand"
