  The tag "friendliest place in town" is definately incorrect - I passed this place last Saturday night at 9pm and the place was dead; The girls working there were bored out of thier brains and lithargic. Currently, Number 1 bar advertises itself as Chiang Mai's friendliest - they try darned hard to keep that reputation - at least there staff are friendly, politely welcoming everyone who passes. The other bars close to Loi Kroh would also all beat this bar for friendliness and customer sttention. Sorry, the original message is looks as though it was posted by someone who owned or is connected to Nancy Bar and are trying to hype it. In truth, Nancy Bar is an average bar.

  Nancy bar changed ownership early this year (2007) and is now owned by a Japanese guy and his Thai girlfriend. Can't say it's improved any...to be honest it's gone the other way. Most of the time it sits empty, devoid of customers with only a few very bored staff in it looking a bit lost. In order to compensate for the lack of customers they have put their prices up too...not a clever move. The owner has even taken to shouting in other bars blaming them for his lack of customers...not very businesslike or proffesional and deffinately with a huge amount of jealousy thrown in. There are many other bars in the city (some very nearby) that are worth going too....this isn't one of them.
