Major Avenue Ratchayothin’s core target group are youths and teenagers from 15 years upwards who reside in Chatuchak, Ladprao and Bangkhen area, have mid-range earnings and income, and enjoy a comfortable lifestyle with a liking for mingling with new people and all kinds of entertainment.
Covering nine-rai land plot, Major Avenue Ratchayothin is divided into 2 zones as follows:
- A 15-storey building with 29,000 with square meters of space with 1,300 square meters to be taken up by a supermarket, 3,500 square meters demarcated as offices and 600 square meters for parking
- 10,000 square meters of rental space
“Our experience shows that SF-operated shopping centers have been very well-received by the public with these ranging from J Avenue Thonglor 15, Esplanade Ratchada to La Villa Phaholyothin. This led to the initiative to realize a uniquely different concept with Major Avenue Ratchayothin epitomizing Urban Chic and reflecting the stylish lifestyle of urban people,” Mr. Nopporn said.
Mr. Nopporn added that Major Avenue Ratchayothin is able to accommodate 30,000 customers a day who can easily reach the stylish new complex by taking the green-line BTS to Ratchayothin station with the construction of this BTS station having started at the beginning of this year.
Not only would Major Avenue Ratchayothin help reduce the crowds in other shopping centers it would also draw movie-goers flocking to Major Cineplex and others who like bowling at its alleys. Famous shops such as Kanom, Starbucks, Fuji, Wine Connection, Ootoya, Infinite Gallery and McDonald’s have shown interest in opening outlets at Major Avenue Ratchayothin.

  • This place gives me an interior rash. ~~Dr. Steve Brule
  • Dear Dr Brule, I don't know what your references are to get an interior rash from shopping at this place, but they're probably not related to any existing place in Thailand, so when making this type of comment, try to think about people who don't have the luxury of international travel opportunities like you and develop your biased and spoiled person opinion a little more than this. Now if you just wrote this because you thought it was a funny line but have so few friends that you had to placard it on the web to feel you're a spirited person, then I hope it didn't work. The Avenue Rachayothin, with all the imperfections applying to it you may want to list, represents one of the few major steps in developing shopping retail places in Thailand, and probably an example for countries that haven't benefited (or been cursed?) by western colonization and their accomplished architectures. How many shopping centers in Thailand do you know are outdoor ones? Have trees that were pre-existing their construction still in place? Take Thai people out of the climatized indoors they have had for the past decades? Personally don't know many, but I know this model is developing throughout Bangkok, probably by the same developers and designers (I'm thinking about J-avenue, la Villa in Ari, and so on), and who I'm sure have a brighter future than the ones developing freeze boxes.
  • I live just two blocks from The Avenue and go several times a week. It's been a fabulous addition to my neighborhood since it opened, adding nice shops and restaurants and a supermarket -- all of which required a much further walk before The Avenue opened. I love all of these types of open-air community malls in Bangkok. You're still outside but able to get your weekly shopping done, pick up some desserts, beer or wine and have a nice lunch with friends. Love, love, love The Avenue and am so happy it was built near my home :)
