The jesuits came to koblenz in 1580 and built the Jesuit Church and a Jesuit College. The Church of Jesuits from early 17th century was destroyed 1944. Only the western portal with its huge rose window remained. To the left of the entrance are a string of bells that do a lovely chime on the top of each hour.
Since 1895 most parts of the the the Jesuit college building are used as town hall.
