Kiska Island

Kiska is an island in the Rat Islands group of the Aleutian Islands of Alaska. It was occupied by the Japanese during WWII. The Island is now a protected US National Historic site and Alaska wildlife preserve.

  • Before anyone makes a comment about rectangle instead of polygon, I spent 3 hours making as accurate a polygon here as the limitation of points permits, deleting finer definition to make points available to complete the polygon, only to find at the end a message that the polygon is too large - reduce its size. This is a restriction that needs re-examination, along with the points limitation. Kiska Island is not so huge that it does not need definition. If the management of Wikimapia want users to make accurate polygons, and not to be turned off by wasted work, as I have just been (as many times before), the polygon size limitation needs to be scrapped. Let's get real!!
