One of the North End's hidden gems is the garden at Lewis Wharf. The HarborWalk passes by this secret garden on an unmarked, gravel path before connecting to one of the newest segments of the HarborWalk completed during the spring of 2007 (the Adirondack chairs are a great way to view the Harbor from this site). Lewis Wharf is also the home of the Boston Sailing Center, which operates from a Louisiana riverboat moored on the northwest side of the wharf. The lobby of the condominium building at Lewis Wharf has a comfortable sitting area and numerous historic photos and artifacts of Lewis Wharf.

Also on Lewis Wharf, the HarborWalk passes the Pilot House, an historic commercial building. Starbucks and public restrooms are located on the ground floor of the Pilot House, and free binoculars can be found outside. The site is accessible by water taxi. The Bank of America ATM space on Commercial Street houses a free, interactive interpretive exhibit about the history of the Pilot House, East Boston Ferry, and Boston Harbor.

Thanks to the efforts of the Boston Redevelopment Authority, a new HarborWalk segment with benches was completed in July, 2007 at Sargent's Wharf.
