Kingston Wharves | wharf

Jamaica / Saint Andrew / Kingston /

It is the #1 wharf (largest) in the Caribbean, as announced in 2007. It is located on Marcus Garvey drive opposite Tinson pen aerodrome. It employs over 500 people. It is now managed by former Director of election Domville Walker who seems to be doing an absolutely outstanding job by cleaning out corruption - the number one problem that the organization faces.

  • This description is incorrect. The bordered area being referred to as "kingston Wharves" is actually the Kingston Container Terminal, a major transhipment port in the Caribbean. This facility is owned by the Port Authority of Jamaica and is managed by APM Terminals (Jamaica) Ltd. under management contract. see www.portjam.com DANVILLE Walker is the Commisioner of Customs, he is in charge of Jamaica Customs. I dont know the Jamaica Custom's URL, but if you need to check it the Jamaica Information Service www.jis.gov.jm is a good starting point. You are providing a very useful service. However, I implore you to check the descriptions for accuracy before you post them. Best Regards
