  Back when the Canal Zone existed this used to be the Panama Canal College. Some time in the mid to late 90's the Department of Defense handed it over to Florida State University. Up until mid 2009 they were operating it as a campus both for locals and for US college students wanting to study abroad. Since then FSU Panama has moved to Clayton (about 5 miles north) and sold the campus to the Panamanian Government. It's now currently home of the International Maritime University of Panama or Universidad Marítima Internacional de Panamá.
