The place used to serve as a super market and the fairground in the 70s. Russian books fair used to take place here regularily. Also there was a children's train in the park closeby. In its glory days this place used to be the center of shopping spree and loads of family fun.
Despite the competition from the other markets mushrooming almost everywhere in the city,the place is still the most popular spot for eating out or for just hanging out in the evenings.
