This village with 327 inhabitants was first mentioned in writing in 1799. It is the highest village of Slovakia in the altitude of 1015 m above sea level.
The most precious things to see are folk architecture with very special urbanistic structure very unusual for Slovak villages and beautiful hilly countryside with magnificent views stretching from Polish border (High Tatras) to Hungary (Mátra mountains).
