A vertically bedded outcrop of Tuscarora sandstone reaching up to 900 feet above the North Fork of the South Branch of the Potomac River. Well known to rock climbers who travel long distances to challenge themselves on its sheer faces. Seneca Rocks was an important training location for the U.S. Army in the early years of World War II and it remains an impressive tourist destination today.

  • You don't have to be a mountain climber to get up to the rocks. There is a walking trail that will take you near to the top.
