 house, place with historical importance

Miss Williams died Feb 26, 1998 at age 98 and left her 10,000+ square-foot regency-style house on 24 acres to the University of Tennessee. Built in 1940-41, the three-story brick house has only three bedrooms. Also, a living room, dining room, gallery, library, two kitchens, servants' quarters, a dressing room with walls that are mirrors and three-car garage. In the main kitchen the refrigerator is industrial and looks more like a morgue cooler, and the stove/oven is also stainless steel industrial. The house has beautiful hardwood floors and built in bookshelves in the library. Also the shutters are all on hand cranks inside the house and the large windows have pull out screens that you can pull out of the walls and open up the windows. The fireplace mantels are alabaster and radiators are hidden. There is a sensor in the driveway if someone was to get pass the gate, and the 3 garage doors are automatic with deadbolt type openers. Having been given a personal tour of the house, Eugenia spared no expense on her mansion. Now all we have to do is get UTK to wake up and put some effort into bringing this historic property back to life. Even the "carriage house" is unique with it's multicolored tile shingles. The will stipulates that the property, worth $6 million, can never be subdivided or sold.
