Puthuveetumele Junction is one of the local town centres, where people come to fetch bus, read news papaer at the sahrudaya sports & arts club, for shopping etc. Gopi's chayakada is famous for tea and Kunjan's Plumbing works is most wanted. The AKG Memorial is well known and is one of the oldest memorials in puthuveetumele. There are a number of churches and temples around puthuveetumele. The name came from a family name puthuveedu which means new house and mele means up. One of the famous people reside there are Sri.Kanakamony who is one of the founders of the sahrudaya club.B.S Sankaran Nair Road start from next place known as Otubharanimukku.It is the shortest way to go Kundaman Bhagam bridge(Built by British Govt.) from Mangattukadavu Road.
