The Belocherkovski Monastery of Sts. Peter and Paul was founded in 11 c. During the conversion to Islam of the Bulgarians in Chepino 17 c. monastery was destroyed, but in 1883 resurrected with the new name of Sts. Peter and Paul. On the ruins of the old new church was built of white crushed stone and right here comes the name of the monastery - Belocherkovski.
In case of fire in Belocherkovski Monastery in 2002, burned completely residential and ancillary buildings and left only the church complex. Acting monastery. The highest monastery in Bulgaria.
