Historic Canal Bridge (Lynchburg, Virginia)

In the 18th century Lynchburg contained a canal system for the small boat that carried goods up and down the river. This bridge is one of the last remaining structures related to that canal. It currently serves no practical purpose but has been preserved for future generations and provides automobile access to the gravel parking area along the river.
