Freeland is a census-designated place (CD) on Whidbey Island in Island County, Washington, United States. The population was 2,035 at the 2010 census. The town received its name based on its origins as a socialist commune in the early 1900s.

Lots of small shops, nice grocery store (Payless), hardware store (Ace), drug store (Langley Drug), bowling alley, restaurants, coffee shops, post office, library (currently closed for remodel) and several gas stations.
