Approximately 500 acres of wetlands on the Lynnfield/Wakefield border. Includes several small ponds and islands. One island, Partridge Island is accessible via a footpath from Main Street in Lynnfield. It was once the site of a Native American encampment.
The marsh is the largest freshwater cattail marsh in Massachusetts. The area preserves the habitat requirements of many bird species and serves as a breeding ground for the king rail and least bittern, rare species in the region.
