The first written mention of the town comes from 1264.
The local spa buildings offers treatment of musculoskeletal system oriented to rheumatologic inflammatory diseases, e.g. arthritis, vertebral syndromes, Bechterew's disease. Treatment of long-term problems, preoperative and postoperative conditions and post-traumatic rehabilitation.
Flat landscape, with the characteristic shape of a medieval fishpond system encourages to pedestrian walks, undemanding cycling trips and horse rides.
