Medak’s Kila (Fort) was built by Prataparudra, a powerful ruler of Kakatiyan dynasty, around 12th century. Later on this fort served as a commanding post for Qutub Shahi rulers. Saying goes that Bahadur Khan, a commander in Qutub Shahi’s army built the mosque. Although in ruins, it discreetly tells the stories of the magnificence of the past Indian rulers.
