Birkur is one of the historical fort built next to Manjeera river bed in the anicent period. Birkoor is Mandal HQ (mdl code-19) in Nizamabad Dt, AP. Rich of agricultural farms with Paddy, Sugar Cane, Peanuts, Sunflower are the major crops. Birkur is a cosmopolitan village/suburbs with mix of locals, local tribes, people from across Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Maharastra. Birkur has advantages of being in AP, near to maharastra and Karnataka. There are few international visitors visits Birkur once in a while. History: Birkur is ruled by the local kings/munisabs until Independance with couple of forts with guards and compound protecting the village.
