A public square, often considered to be the "center" of downtown Jacksonville.

Also known as Hemming "Plaza" - although that name is an incorrect invention of the local media.

Contains monuments to President John F Kennedy, who spoke in the park, Popular Jacksonville Congressman Bennett, and the Parks name sake C.C. Hemming. The monument to C.C. Hemming (Hemming was a Confederate war hero and Jacksonville banker) survived the great fire of 1901 with only scorch marks, while every building around the park was completely burned to the ground.
