Chandabali (or Chandbali) is a town in the Bhadrak district of Odisha on the bank of the River Baitarani, and a tourist destination for visitors to the Bhitarkanika Wildlife Sanctuary.
CHANDBALI is naturally beautiful place & situated on the bank of the holy river Baitarani. It was an ancient river port occupies a distinct place in Orissa's trade and navigation . Large steamers & ships used to bring goods to Chandbali port. It is 55 Kms away from the district headquarters Bhadrak. It is also a popular tourist spot and the gate-way to the famous Wildlife Sanctuary "Bhitarkanika"( National Park)&Gahirmatha Turtle Sanctuary. In 1950 there were 8 large rice mills in Chandbali and total annual production of rice was about 25,000 M/T. The best quality rice was exported to Bengal and other states of India from this place.This fertile region was known as the'rice bowl'of
Orissa.
