Audley End Station is located in Wenden's Ambo, named after a nearby manor and serves the town of Saffron Walden. It is served by trains to London, Cambridge and Stansted Airport.

  • 'Its situation is despised by the residents of mainland Saffron Walden, for being in such a minimal village they then have to make an effort to get to.' Well perhaps they should have protested a bit harder against the closure of Saffrom Walden railway station...
  • Looking at the map, I reckon it would be possible to rebuild the branch to Safron Waldren. You'd need to dig under some buildings to get to the old station road, though luckily the trackbed seems to be quite deep. Assuming you can do that, the new station could be by Debden Road and Old Station Road. Parking might be a problem.
