  This ground was permitted to be utilized by the youth of Aquem to play.When the management of Costa's decided to sell this ground, took the care to donate other piece of land of the same area to the Sports Authority of Goa,to build a small stadium. People that are not properly informed are trying to stop the sale of this area. We think that they want the Municipality to buy the land,and give to the youth of Aquém. I think the Municipality does not agree because is a bad precedent.

  This ground properly knows as Fabric Ground (meaning Community Ground) was give to Costa only to take care by the St. Sebastian Church previously known as Pandava Chapel when Costas purchased land to build their factory. Over the span of years costa got the ownership and got it converted to S-2 zone in 1997 (only S-2 land in Margao those days) with the help of Digamber Kamat (for your information nothing can move without permission of Digamber Kamat). People say that builder who purchased is only a front person and actual purchaser is Digamber Kamat.
