The Grotto - The National Sanctuary of Our Sorrowful Mother, is set in a 62 acre garden and forest on a bluff overlooking the Columbia River. The Grotto is a quiet place of peace, prayer and reflection, wonderfully suited to quiet walks. The Grotto itself is a small cave that houses a statue of Mary. Daily Masses are said in the chapel and outside at the grotto, weather permitting.

On the grounds of the grotto is located a monastery of the Order of Servants of Mary. Also known as the Servites, this is a Catholic religious order ministering throughout the world in a variety of fields.
