Hālawa Bay is between Lamaloa Head, an 837-foot cliff, and Cape Hālawa, the E extremity of Moloka‘i. The bay, which is about 1.5 miles wide between Lamaloa Head and Cape Hālawa extends about 0.7 mile inland, affords no shelter from the trades, but indifferent anchorage can be found in depths of 5 fathoms about 0.3 mile from the head. The shores of the bay are mostly backed by high cliffs; there are two black rocks close to the S shore. [www.nauticalcharts.noaa.gov/nsd/coastpilot_w.php?book=7] Chapter 14
