St. Michael’s Church, Thathampally has a long history of 605 years. It is known ‘the Vatican of Alappuzha’ because of the heritage of this locality centered upon it. It is the biggest parish in Alappuzha forane of Changanaserry Archdiocese. At present, our parish has more than 1200 families. As a result of the toil of our forefathers and our present elders we have a big Church cum priest house, St. Michaels High School, Holy Family L. P. School, Chapels (Holy Family, St. Mary’s Karuka, Korthassery, H.M.C.A and St. Mary’s Kayalkurisady) a beautiful grotto, Kurushadies (situated in the East North in front of the Church, etc) and a big Parish hall. CYMA has played a major role in briging up this church.
