    Previously this village was famous for Watermelons. Dark - Bottle green coloured Mouth watering tasty watermelons were grown here & sold at Thane & Panvel area in bullock carts. But as industries & housing started growing nearby, and Watermelons from Karnataka started flowing to Mumbai area, this crop almost vanished from here. I am not aware whether Watermelons are still grown here any more - sigh .

    Srimaan MN Mhatre ji , thanks for imfoemation ,last week i had visit to Shilphata but there was no water melons, then we search some afforaedable homes over there ,the ONLY one project found that is SajShrushti .900 mtr long from Shilfata.....cheapest than other project nearby like ATlanta @ 4000 + , Shreepati @ 3500 + Lodha CasaRio 5000+ etc etc........

    Question to Planning & developing Authorities Of TMC (Thane Muncipl Corp ) Can we b00k a home at near circle Daighar village Rd shilfata bldg under construction but builders says no need to registration of flats Notary will do becuase the whole shilfata area will out from TMC border after Diwali they also added that they got investment of politicians & govt officers in that projects , and one of the bldr provided us the fake documents of legelity from TMC pls guide us by answering this....
