hill, interesting place
Hathershelf Scout better known to locals as Scout Rocks. This imposing cliff face was once a quarry. Stone was taken from here for buildings in Halifax and other surrounding towns. Later the area was used as a local refuse tip where in the 1980s was found dumped asbestos. The clean up of the asbestos took around 15 to 20 years.
