St. Aloysius Higher Secondary English School is one of the Oldest and well-reputed school in Kollam Corporation built in the year 1900. It was started by Irish Brothers and since then the school had run with its own name of grace and decorum. The school boasts of high strength of students and good alumunus in the District, both in Merit and Standard among other Government aided schools. Alumnus include the Doctors, Engineers, IT Professionals, Politicians and scientists. Adjacent to the school is the shrine of "Our lady of fatima" and seminary for the clergy. All the School, shrine and the Seminary is run and Managed by the Bishop of Kollam.
protest neglect of kollam port
Kollam port is 'developed' by Govt to be a 'fishing'(what ashame!!) port. Apart from inaguration , nothing has been done.Kerala Govt is developing Vizhinjam(Not an existing port) at 8000 crores in BOT model neglecting 2000 yr old kollam port(i dont know whether we can call it a port). This is part of Total neglect of Kerala GOVT towards kollam. Not single project worth to mention has been implemented in kollam for 50 yrs after independance. Kollam sent 5 ministers in this LDF ministry and 5 in last UDF ministry. all are like kuravan kollathu poyathu pole. doing nothing to kollam

i studied at st .aloysius between 1957 and 1961 when fr.itticunnath was head master.i was one of the first batch of ACC, the earlier version of NCC .Now after living in different parts of india and the globe,currently settled in canada.
