St Michael & All Angels Church (London)

United Kingdom / England / Richmond / London / Bath Road

St Michael & All Angels, Bedford Park, is a beautiful and thriving church in Chiswick, very close to Turnham Green tube station. Designed by the celebrated Victorian architect Richard Norman Shaw in 1879, it was much loved by John Betjeman who led the campaign for Bedford Park - the first garden suburb - to become a conservation area.
St Michael & All Angels Church lies at the heart of Bedford Park, a residential area developed between 1875 and 1886 and acclaimed as the world's first “garden suburb” - forerunner by over thirty years of Letchworth and Welwyn Garden City.
