This beach, also known as Mauna Kea Beach, has consistently ranked among the top five beaches in the U.S. The far left of the beach is a great site for diving and snorkeling. The area is protected by large rocks, so swimmers are safe from currents even on fairly rough days. Further offshore, you’ll find some attractive reef with a large population of Hawaiian reef fish. You may also spot some rays and turtles.
One will have to pass through the hotel itself to get to the beach, so it’s never very crowded. The only thing you’ll have to worry about is parking, since there are limited slots and they tend to get filled quite fast. Try to arrive early--once the spots are full, they won;t let you in the resort.
