Only way to describe this house – wow. Built 1896 for brewer Francis J. Dewes. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1973, designated a Chicago Landmark in 1974. The exterior is decorated with intricate carved stonework and ornamental cornices and lintels. The entrance to the mansion is flanked by caryatids supporting a balcony over the doorway.
And the interior is even more eye-popping.
