It is speculated that this tower was built in times of the Grand duke Vytautas (end of the 14th age) in style which was typical for defensive architecture of Great Duchy of Lithuania. A tower controlled south part of the Tavan island. A tower was reconstructed in 19th age to strengthen the walls to two-meter thickness.
