Werfen is a town about 40 km south of Salzburg in Austria. It is located in the Pongau region, with a population of about 3,500. The best-known attractions are the Eisriesenwelt (the biggest ice-cave in the world) and Burg Hohenwerfen (the medieval castle where the movie Where Eagles Dare was filmed).
