  • The best place on earth to grow up...if you have a boat. Also, it has been ranked in a global context as having the second best sunsets aside from Japan (I believe as per National Geographic via the 1980's). In part, this was due to the immense pollution (ie: the greenhouse effect) that arose from International Paper (formerly Hammermill Inc.) as well as, and currently, The General Electric Corporation. Furthermore, the geographic position of Erie's beloved Presque Isle State Park just so happens to allow for the sun (which is in the early stages of becoming a RED GIANT regardless of what accredited astronomers would lead one to believe)to majestically disappear below the lake...or maybe over Niagra Falls? Ha.
  • Actually, I believe the great sunsets are from the pollution floating over from Cleveland since GE and Hammermill are east of Erie proper. But no doubt, best sunsets of any place I have lived.
  • The best sunsets story is an urban legend... everyone growing up in Erie has heard it and repeats it, but it's not true. http://www.wicu12.com/news/index.vnss?newsid=1643&type=News They are amazing though.
