Designed by Frank Lloyd Wright while employed at Adler & Sullivan's, both 4852 and 4858 S. Kenwood Ave are referred to as Wright's "bootleg" homes as they were constructed outside of the Adler & Sullivan firm. These homes were cited in the dismissal of Wright from the A&S firm.
The Blossom House was erected in 1892 for its owner, George Blossom, and is considered to be an academic design with subtle foreshadowing of Wright's later works.
