The Thomas Point Shoal Light is a historic lighthouse in Chesapeake Bay on the east coast of the United States.

It was built in 1825 on the Thomas Point shoal at the South River entrance to Chesapeake Bay in Anne Arundel County, Maryland. It is currently maintained by the United States Coast Guard. It was first lit in 1875 and is still fully operational, although it has been automated since 1986.

It is a screwpile lighthouse, with a wooden cottage structure. The present optic is a 250 mm solar-powered lens. It also has an electric foghorn.

It is not open to the public, but a water tour operates several times daily (in season) from Annapolis, Maryland. It is listed on the National Register of historic landmarks.

  • It is not regularly open to the public, but on occasion, for a nice sizable fee there is an outfit that takes people out to tour it.
