  I have a couple photos of this new HQ being built back in May 1987. I walked over at 1700 on Memorial Day to watch MPs lower the huge flag. I stood by the HQ bldg, a white lap-siding 2 story WWII era with a Sherman Tank to the right of the flagpole and a camo Cobra helicopter on the left. III Corps and Fort Hood Cmdr was LTG Crosbie Saint. The old white bldg was located where the parking lot is now, to the north of new HQ. Fort Hood "The Great Place".
