Constructed in 1915, The Bank of Pinole is located in the historic downtown section of the city of Pinole.
In 1905, Pinole businessman Edward M. Downer Sr. built a small wood frame bank with a capital of $12,000. Ten years later, Mr. Downer realized the growing community's need for a secure building to house their assets. His response was the fire resistant design of the Neo Classic Bank of Pinole located across the street from his original bank.
