This used to be a top-notch restaurant in Hillsborough, but the building now sits vacant and in disrepair. The owner has promised to fix it up for years, but has taken no action.

The core of the current inn was built in 1838, and there are twentieth century additions. An inn or tavern has stood on this site back into Revolutionary times. It is said that General Cornwallis himself stayed in the tavern during the war. This story has been reflected in the names of various roads and other features in the area and in one of the signature dishes of the restaurant.
