Technically, this is "South California Ave." and "North California Ave" is north of the railroad tracks. It is rumored that Steve Jobs lives somewhere around N. CA ave.

This area used to be its own village of Mayfield, which was annexed by Palo Alto in 1924. The "Mayfield" City Hall is still preserved for historical purposes at 411 California Ave.
